The Junior Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities for a new high-end luxury skincare brand. This position reports to the staff accountant.

Responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger and accounting system.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain, monitor, and reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Maintain and reconcile sales tax liabilities.
- Assist with financial reporting and budgets, and any ad-hoc reporting as needed.
- Prepare financial statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial reports to assist in tax return preparations, tax filings, and external financial audits.
- Resolve any discrepancies or irregularities found in records, statements, or documented transactions.
- Respond to information requests and provide financial reports to various departments on a timely basis.
- Ensure all financial records and statements are in line with laws, regulations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Identify and help implement process improvement opportunities as they relate to the Accounting and Finance groups.
- Assist with ongoing projects and additional duties as assigned by Administration.
- Support multiple business units across several locations.
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with high analytical skills.
- Strong work ethic, high level of integrity, confidentiality, and trustworthiness.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Advanced knowledge and experience of spreadsheets.
- Experience with SAP Business One accounting software is a plus.
- Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.
- Experience with e-commerce support platforms such as Magento, Authorize.net, and Avalara is a plus.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Team player.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- At least one year of related experience required.
