About the Role:
The position involves the creation, modification, updating, and maintenance of an accurate MCAD/ECAD parts library. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining libraries of 3D models used in downstream MCAD/ECAD mechanical and harness designs, utilizing SolidWorks and Catia software. The role requires access to manufacturers' websites to obtain data sheets and neutral file formats (such as STEP, IGES, etc.). Additionally, the selected individual will process component registration requests, validate information, assign a part number, and link the relevant manufacturers' part information. This role involves configuring and controlling all Parts and CAD data in the Aras PLM system, adhering to relevant design and modeling practices, and closely collaborating with Engineers and Designers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create, modify, update, and maintain an accurate MCAD/ECAD parts library.
- Create and maintain libraries of 3D models used in downstream MCAD/ECAD (SolidWorks & Catia) mechanical and harness designs.
- Access manufacturers' websites to obtain data sheets and neutral file formats (STEP, IGES, etc.).
- Process component registration requests, validate information, assign a part number, and link manufacturers' part information.
- Configure and control all Parts and CAD data in the Aras PLM system.
- Adhere to relevant design & modeling practices.
- Work closely with Engineers & Designers.
Education & Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2-4 years of experience in Mechanical CAD modeling.
- Working knowledge of CAD packages, Catia or SolidWorks.
- Working knowledge of PDM/PLM systems, specifically Aras Innovator, will be an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of Configuration Management.
- Thorough understanding of assembling parts in assemblies in CAD.
- Understanding of 3D harness design.
