Junior CAD Designer/Librarian- for Local Emirati Talent

About the Role:
This position involves the creation, modification, and maintenance of an accurate MCAD/ECAD parts library. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining libraries of 3D models for use in mechanical and harness designs, ensuring all parts and CAD data are accurately configured and controlled within the Aras PLM system. Collaboration with Engineers and Designers is essential to adhere to relevant design and modeling practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, modify, update, and maintain an accurate MCAD/ECAD parts library.
• Create and maintain libraries of 3D models used in downstream MCAD/ECAD (SolidWorks & Catia) mechanical and harness designs.
• Access manufacturers' websites to obtain data sheets and neutral file formats (STEP, IGES, etc.).
• Process component registration requests, validate information, assign an internal part number, and link manufacturers' part information.
• Configure and control all Parts and CAD data in the Aras PLM system.
• Adhere to relevant design and modeling practices.
• Work closely with Engineers and Designers.

Education & Experience:

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2-4 years of experience in Mechanical CAD modeling.
• Working knowledge of CAD packages, particularly Catia or SolidWorks.
• Working knowledge of PDM/PLM systems, specifically Aras Innovator, is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of Configuration Management.
• Thorough understanding of assembling parts in assemblies in CAD.
• Understanding of 3D harness design.
