About the Role
The company is looking for a Junior Infrastructure Trainee Engineer to join our team in Sohar. This is an entry-level opportunity for an Omani national with a background in Computer Science, IT, or a related field who is interested in developing practical skills in IT infrastructure, Microsoft 365, networking, backup, and technical support. The ideal candidate should be a quick learner with good problem-solving and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide basic IT help desk and technical support to users.
- Support Microsoft 365, Outlook, email, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 administration and user account support.
- Support Veeam backup activities and basic backup monitoring.
- Assist with website and domain administration and publishing.
- Monitor and report basic email security issues, including spoofing, spam, and scams.
- Assist with network support, including switches, wireless access points, VLANs, and DHCP.
- Support Cisco Meraki, Cisco Switches, and Cisco Access Points.
- Assist with VPN and network security troubleshooting.
- Provide basic support for printers, CCTV/DVR, and other IT hardware.
- Troubleshoot user and network issues and escalate incidents when required.
- Document IT environments, configurations, incidents, and troubleshooting activities.
- Maintain basic IT reports using Excel, pivot tables, graphs, and charts.
- Assist in identifying security vulnerabilities and supporting EDR/MDR security solutions.
- Explore practical use of Microsoft Copilot and AI tools while following security and governance requirements.
Requirements
- Omani National only.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Fresh graduate or entry-level candidate.
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 and networking will be an advantage.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in an IT infrastructure and technical support environment.
