Position

Parsons is seeking a talented and highly skilled Junior IT Specialist to provide technical support, maintain IT systems, and assist in the implementation of technology solutions within the organization. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with foundational knowledge of IT systems, a willingness to learn, and a passion for technology. Under direct supervision, you will provide remote technical support to end users of Parsons software, personal computers, workstations, and related hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide analytical and IT technical support remotely to end users of Parsons personal computers, workstations, and related software and hardware.
  • Answer end user IT questions and troubleshoot standard IT issues regarding Parsons hardware, software, and peripherals remotely via telephone, email, or instant messenger.
  • Categorize and isolate end user questions and issues; resolve or refer them to senior staff or other IT groups as needed.
  • Research and develop solutions for standard software and hardware questions and issues.
  • Maintain good general knowledge of the MIS environment and technologies associated with computers, workstations, software, and hardware.
  • Follow Parsons policies and procedures in responding to end user requests and providing support.
  • Document and report all service requests and their outcomes as per standard procedures.
  • Provide Service Desk on-call support for non-business hours (weekends and holidays).
  • Perform other related responsibilities as required.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience providing support to end users (or an equivalent combination of work experience and education).
  • At least one Microsoft or Cisco Certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications, as well as personal computer technology and hardware, is essential.
  • Good customer service skills and the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve common technical issues.
  • Ability to write documents, including emails and memos.
