We are looking for a Junior Research Scientist to work on the Computational & Interactive Health theme under the guidance of Dr. Farah Shamout and Dr. Hanan Salam, in collaboration with Prof. Nizar Habash. The ideal candidate will possess strong machine learning and AI skills, along with a passion for multidisciplinary research at the intersection of computing and healthcare.
The project encompasses three primary objectives:
- Developing robust computational methods for decision-making in health based on significant clinical use cases.
- Creating a tailored health-focused Arabic knowledge interactive language model, which involves developing benchmark datasets, evaluation frameworks, and specialized language models and AI agents.
- Designing specialized interactive multimodal multilingual natural interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Support research supervisors and team members in formulating and implementing the research agenda.
- Conduct high-quality and innovative research with a primary focus on Computational & Interactive Health.
- Generate impactful ideas that address gaps in the current state of the art (SOTA).
- Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at conferences.
- Create, maintain, and document high-quality research code for reproducibility.
- Ensure proper management of sensitive medical datasets.
- Collaborate with other scientists within the company Global Network and in Abu Dhabi.
Qualifications
- A master’s degree in a relevant field with less than five years of research experience, or a bachelor’s degree with any level of experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in machine learning and AI.
- A drive for multidisciplinary research at the intersection of health and technology.

Contract and Benefits
The appointment will be for one year with the possibility of renewal based on performance. The terms of employment are competitive and include:
