The CAMeL Lab focuses its research on NLP, computational linguistics, and data science with a particular emphasis on Arabic language technologies. Current areas of research include:
- Grammatical error correction
- Text generation
- Computational morphology
- Syntactic parsing
- Dialect and non-standard language modeling
- Pedagogical applications
- Machine translation
- Text analytics
Since its establishment in 2014, the lab has produced over 200 publications and more than 20 language resources and tools.
Role Requirements
This position is aimed at Junior Research Scientists holding a BS or MS with less than 5 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A degree in computer science or computer engineering, along with previous experience in natural language processing or computational linguistics/language technologies.
- Strong programming and software engineering skills, along with experience in machine learning.
- Some experience with research publications.
- Knowledge of the Arabic language is preferred but not required.
- Experience in Arabic NLP is an asset, although not mandatory.
