We are seeking junior engineers who are passionate about quality, performance, and resilience in software. In this role, you will be part of the Ubuntu Engineering team, contributing to software design, packaging, integration, testing, and shipping. You'll engage with a broad spectrum of development tasks, from foundational systems software to automation and Distro Engineering.

The Role Involves:

  • Designing, building, and shipping software in languages such as Rust, Go, Python, and C/C++.
  • Packaging, integrating, and testing open source software for the Ubuntu repositories.
  • Debugging and delivering robust solutions.
  • Contributing to documentation and fostering collaboration with the global team.

What We Are Looking For:

  • An exceptional academic track record, especially in Computer Science or STEM.
  • A strong passion for open source software.
  • Experience with programming languages including Rust, Go, Python, Flutter, or C/C++.
  • Professional written and spoken English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel twice a year for company events.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Familiarity with Linux distributions and system debugging tools.
  • Experience with automation tooling and CI/CD systems.
  • Previous contributions to open source projects.

Work Conditions:
