Junior UX Designer

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. We are hiring a Junior UX Designer for our Design Team, where you will play a vital role in the success of Ubuntu and our Infrastructure and Enterprise products.

Junior UX Designers at Canonical are expected to contribute to delivering outstanding user experiences. The design team aims to transform complex, open-source software into efficient and intuitive products that significantly impact enterprise IT. In this role, you will engage with the open-source community and Canonical customers, research new features, collaborate with product managers and engineers, and align efforts with product strategy and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and propose new features and improvements
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers
• Support Canonical design's horizontal efforts
• Evolve and evangelize design systems for consistency and efficiency

Qualifications:

• Exceptional academic track record from high school and university
• Bachelor's degree in User Experience, Design, STEM, or an equivalent field
• Knowledge and passion for user experience, technology, and design
• Commitment to continuous learning and improvement
• Confidence in user research practices
• Engagement with the latest design research and innovation

Work Conditions:

• Remote, full-time position
• Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events lasting up to two weeks
