The primary purpose of this role is to gather, analyze, and disseminate market insights regarding air navigation systems technology, competitor intelligence, and industry trends to enhance Research and Development (R&D) initiatives. You will manage a centralized knowledge platform to ensure stakeholders have access to relevant data and support innovation by identifying opportunities, addressing gaps, and driving continuous improvement within established KPIs, agreed budgets, and adopted policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Key Accountability Areas
Strategic Horizon Scanning
- Collect and analyze data on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to provide actionable intelligence.
- Collaborate with R&D project delivery teams (e.g., Research Scientists) to gather insights on specific focus areas or projects.
- Conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities, threats, and potential collaborations in the R&D landscape, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Generate periodic reports summarizing external trends and their implications for innovation strategies.
R&D Knowledge Management
- Maintain and store market insights and research findings, adhering to best practices.
- Facilitate the dissemination of insights by creating and curating content that aligns with the needs of project teams and decision-makers.
- Design and implement processes to capture internal knowledge and integrate it with external market data to create a holistic view.
R&D Decision Making Support
- Provide structured and timely information to project leads and senior management to aid in strategic decisions and prioritization of R&D initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret data and translate findings into actionable innovation plans.
- Host regular briefings, workshops, or webinars to share findings and facilitate discussions on their implications for ongoing projects.
- Develop predictive models or scenarios to support forward-looking decision-making within the R&D department.
Monitoring and Evaluating Innovation Culture
- Use research findings to identify gaps, inefficiencies, or emerging opportunities within the R&D ecosystem.
- Develop metrics and KPIs to evaluate the impact of insights on R&D projects and processes.
- Recommend strategic adjustments to improve the quality, relevance, and impact of R&D outputs based on data and insights.
- Collaborate with the Innovation Head to track and report on the adoption of an innovation culture across the organization.
Policies, Processes and Procedures
- Conduct day-to-day activities while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes, considering leading practices, changes in the business environment, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience
- No prior experience is required.
Education and Certifications
- Master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent is required.
- Preferred Certifications: data analysis, knowledge management systems, or business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
