L2 Data and Endpoint Security Engineer

The L2 Data and Endpoint Security Engineer will focus on operational support and maintenance of data and endpoint security systems. This full-time role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves standard operational hours with potential on-call responsibilities during critical incidents. You will work in a collaborative team environment, interacting regularly with L3 engineers and other IT/security teams. This position offers opportunities for career development and further specialization in data and endpoint security technologies.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operational Support & Monitoring: Monitor the health and performance of security systems to ensure high availability and effectiveness, responding promptly to security alerts and performing initial troubleshooting on incidents.
• Routine Configuration & Maintenance: Assist with configuration changes, updates, and regular maintenance of supported security technologies while maintaining accurate documentation of system configurations and incident logs.
• Issue Diagnosis & Escalation: Diagnose and resolve common technical issues related to security systems, escalating complex issues to the L3 engineer with thorough documentation.
• Incident Management & Reporting: Assist in incident response activities and document incident details for post-incident reviews, providing periodic reports on system performance and incident trends.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with IT, security, and support teams to ensure operational stability and rapid issue resolution, providing status updates and collaborating on process improvements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in operational support for security solutions, with exposure to data and endpoint security technologies.
• Familiarity with data security technologies such as DLP/NDLP, DRM, Database Activity Monitoring, Data Masking & Encryption, and more.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Skills & Certifications:

• Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, or vendor-specific credentials are preferred.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident management best practices.
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive approach to learning and adapting to new security technologies and practices.
