Job Duties
- Perform assigned duties according to the chemical hygiene plan and current HSE laboratory safety standards.
- Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations while assisting lower-level technicians.
- Conduct routine laboratory tests according to established procedures, or involve the selection of appropriate test equipment/instrumentation procedures.
- Occasionally perform non-routine prototype and laboratory testing.
- Operate laboratory equipment such as pumps and rig equipment as required to execute assigned tasks.
- Build and/or modify non-routine prototypes, models, and special equipment as needed.
- Repair, calibrate, and maintain tools and equipment.
- Perform complex environmental tests using proficient techniques with electrical/electronic, chemical, and mechanical equipment, including set-up, calibration, trouble-shooting, monitoring, and data collection.
- Train lower-level technicians as necessary.
- Collect data, document test results, and assist in preparing reports or other documentation.
- Maintain files and documentation related to test equipment.
- Impact efficiency, profitability, and operations indirectly through correctly performed job tasks.
- Evaluate the consequences of errors, which are easily measurable and can be confined.
Qualifications
- Preferably possess eight (8) hours of college chemistry education.
- Minimum of 5 years of related laboratory testing experience.
