Lead Architect Transmission Network

Role Purpose

• NEOM Tech and Digital seeks a Lead Architect Transmission Network to lead technical, programmatic, and business aspects of the NEOM Connect business.
• Focus on developing connectivity infrastructure for the cognitive city, ensuring environmental sustainability in compute solutions.
• The role includes supporting retail service providers and network services as a Carrier Neutral Network provider.
• Candidates should have greenfield telecommunications experience, strong technical expertise in Network Fabric (Optical Transport, DWDM, OTN, SDN), and solid business acumen.

Location & Reporting

• Based in Saudi Arabia, Corporate HQ.
• Reports directly to the Head of Connect.

Key Accountabilities & Activities

• Architectural leadership in fixed Networks to ensure performance across all Connect platforms and solutions.
• Develop fixed network architectures regionally and locally, from Dark fiber to FTTx.
• Define requirements for access networks and develop solution templates across NEOM.
• Strategic leadership in network fabric architecture, aligning with best practices and group guidelines.

Strategic Planning

• Develop and execute the Fixed Network architecture for NEOM.
• Innovate in technology domains of fiber, microwave, space, and subsea cables.
• Establish a deployment roadmap for the Fixed Network architecture.
• Oversee all planning, design, building, and operation of the Fixed Network.

Solution Development and Delivery

• Serve as the technical expert in delivering Fixed Network solutions.
• Propose technical solutions to meet client requirements more efficiently.
• Collaborate with other asset owners for integrated network architecture.
• Review specifications and policies for technical equipment purchases.
• Assist in technical aspects of strategic sales efforts.

Operational Solutions

• Architect operational management systems for effective business solution implementation.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and automation in the Fixed Network.
• Ensure security and integrity of data through robust security measures.

Relationship Management

• Engage with other telecommunication providers for network inter-connectivity.
• Manage relationships and engage with managed network service providers and public cloud providers.
• Support the commercialization team in solution delivery for the Network business.

Success Metrics

• Translate business and customer requirements into technological requirements.
• Define and oversee the architecture and design of systems for current and future needs.
• Implement best practice security measures for system integrity and continuity.
• Leverage technology for efficiency and quality in solution design, build, and operation.
• Manage supplier and partner relationships to maximize value delivery.

Background, Skills & Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in Network Fabric architecture.
• Strong connection between business planning and managed technology.
• Extensive leadership experience in Network Fabric infrastructure development.
• Hands-on tactical skills, analytical, and critical thinking.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with a deep understanding of IT/engineering in Networking and Telecommunications.
