Position

The company, a leader in AI-powered cloud and digital infrastructure, is seeking a Lead Engineer - DevOps and Automation. This role involves leading and developing a team of DevOps engineers while remaining actively involved in infrastructure engineering. The Lead Engineer will own the design, implementation, and reliability of infrastructure and automation capabilities, drive DevOps strategy and best practices, and lead incident response and continuous improvement across the environment.

Location: United Arab Emirates

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and develop DevOps engineers through technical coaching, performance support, and career development.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, architecture decisions, and the infrastructure technology roadmap.
  • Design and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent technologies.
  • Architect and maintain secure, reliable CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD or equivalent platforms.
  • Own the container orchestration strategy across Kubernetes and OpenShift environments.
  • Define and monitor SLIs and SLOs and drive improvements in reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Lead infrastructure incident response, on-call processes, and post-incident reviews.
  • Partner with Engineering and Security teams to strengthen compliance, cybersecurity, documentation, and cross-team DevOps practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least eight years of DevOps engineering experience, with a minimum of three years in a technical leadership role.
  • Hands-on expertise across AWS and/or Azure; relevant cloud certifications are preferred.
  • Advanced Linux administration and practical experience with Terraform, Ansible, and modern CI/CD platforms.
  • Strong scripting or programming skills in Python, Go, and/or Bash.
  • Production experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.
  • Knowledge of networking, SQL/NoSQL databases, messaging systems, and hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working in Agile teams.
