About the Job
The Lead Engineer will be responsible for onsite installation of motors and generators systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration after installation. They will provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, commissioning, refurbishment, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of medium voltage synchronous and induction motors, generators, excitation, and AVR systems, with knowledge of medium voltage variable speed drives systems.
• Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services.
• Write technical reports, order materials, secure quotations, and prepare job status reports, reports to customers, timesheets, and expense sheets on a complete, timely, and thorough basis.
• Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites.
• Maintain a strong safety mindset to ensure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within company safety standards.
• Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and as a reference for future outages.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university (Electrical Engineering preferred)
• Minimum 7 years of field service experience with medium voltage motors, generators, excitation systems, and commissioning of rotating equipment.
• Hands-on experience in electrical testing and commissioning of electrical rotating machines and drives systems.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 80% of the time, as required.
