Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation, commissioning, refurbishment, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of medium voltage synchronous and induction motors, generators, excitation, and AVR systems, with knowledge of medium voltage variable speed drives systems.
- Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services.
- Write technical reports, order materials, secure quotations, and prepare job status reports, reports to customers, timesheets, and expense sheets on a complete, timely, and thorough basis.
- Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites.
- Maintain a strong safety mindset to ensure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within company safety standards.
- Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and as a reference for future outages.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university (Electrical Engineering preferred)
- Minimum 7 years of field service experience with medium voltage motors, generators, excitation systems, and commissioning of rotating equipment.
- Hands-on experience in electrical testing and commissioning of electrical rotating machines and drives systems.
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 80% of the time, as required.
