Responsibilities
As a Lead Product Service Engineer for control systems, you will be responsible for upholding product integrity by:
- Responding to internal and external customer requests for technical issue resolution using technical product knowledge and analytical skills while adhering to sound engineering principles, standards, practices, and procedures. Escalating issues as required and acting as the liaison between field and design engineering to drive specific technical resolutions and corrective actions.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with customers to ensure their technical issues and requirements are understood and addressed in a timely manner.
- Leading and managing root cause analysis/investigation activities for product technical issues, interfacing with Product Service, System, and Design Engineering teams, while providing technical leadership to personnel supporting projects assigned to resolve customer technical issues.
- Preparing technical presentations for management and customers, ensuring timely communication of significant issues or developments.
- Traveling to customer locations to:
- Support customer technical review meetings and present recommendations to champion our technical solutions.
- Support unplanned/forced outages to meet reliability and availability goals.
- Provide commercial teams with technical support for sales and services proposal activities.
- Planning and providing technical engineering oversight to the Contractual Services and Field Services teams during planned outages to meet reliability and availability goals.
- Partnering with the Design Engineering teams and interfacing with external and internal suppliers to facilitate the logistical implementation of Fleet Program technical solutions.
Fuel Your Passion
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics/Control & Instrumentation/Electrical & Electronics) or equivalent.
- Have 5-10 years of experience in operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of heavy-duty, aero-derivative, and compressor control systems, as well as motor issues in EMCC-driven trains.
- Possess knowledge of MarkVI, MarkVIe, MarkVIeS, and Compressor Control systems, as well as VFDs, Motors, and their protection.
- Be ready to travel at short notice 20 to 25% of the time, and be available to work during weekends for emergency technical support.
Desired Characteristics
- Have experience in a matrix leadership environment and prior experience in design engineering or field maintenance/customer service facing roles.
- Communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Work well with teams and communicate requests and requirements clearly.
- Have experience working in a global matrix organization with the ability to make timely and sound decisions based on data.
- Interface effectively with all levels of an organization and demonstrate leadership to pursue correct engineering actions in adverse conditions or situations.
- Be a self-starter with strong technical and analytical skills, as well as a strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills, including awareness of applicable engineering tools and systems.
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Be fluent in English, with a preference for Arabic speaking.
