Lead Engineer - Storage and Data Protection

The company, a leader in AI-powered cloud and digital infrastructure, is seeking a Lead Engineer – Storage and Data Protection to contribute to the design, implementation, and expert support of large-scale storage infrastructure. This role ensures high levels of performance, scalability, reliability, and security while acting as a key subject matter expert and technical lead for a team focusing on block, file, object storage, and backup across Cloud and HPC environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-design, implement, and manage PBs-scale block, file, and object storage solutions.
• Lead implementation and lifecycle management of storage and backup services.
• Collaborate with architecture and platform engineering teams on technology evaluation and solution design.
• Support execution of storage roadmaps, standards, and service improvements.
• Lead capacity planning activities and improve storage platform reliability.
• Analyze and implement performance optimization strategies.
• Define and execute disaster recovery and data protection strategies.
• Provide Level 3 expert support, including root cause analysis and complex troubleshooting.
• Lead and mentor storage engineers, ensuring technical quality and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure secure compliance.
• Create and maintain documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in designing and managing large-scale storage and data protection platforms.
• 2+ years leading a team of engineers.
• Strong experience with software-defined storage solutions and various storage technologies.
• Proficiency in Linux administration and scripting/programming languages like Python or Go.
