We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in refinery and onshore/offshore oil and gas projects to join our Abu Dhabi Operations, UAE. This position plays a critical role in the design and implementation of engineering solutions, ensuring successful project delivery within budget constraints while leading technical teams involved in various phases of complex engineering assignments.

Reports To
The Lead Electrical Engineer reports to the Head of Discipline - Electrical.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Engineering Design, FEED and detail engineering experience, including deliverable lists with man-hours and costing estimation for proposals in Telecom systems.
  • Extensive experience in IT/Telecom fields including security & safety, wired & wireless communication in the oil & gas sector.
  • Oversee the design, verification, and finalization of engineering document deliverable register (EDDR) in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Prepare and review design outputs, including design computations, drawings, and specifications in accordance with client and contract requirements.
  • Ensure approval of submitted documents and drawings and coordinate with clients to resolve unclear issues.
  • Work with the procurement department to ensure necessary inputs are obtained from vendors.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), commissioning, and pre-commissioning activities.
  • Prepare telecommunications engineering deliverables including Design Basis, Specifications, System Block Diagrams, Datasheets, and calculations (e.g., Radio Coverage Calculations, Fiber Optic Link Budget Calculations).
  • Develop telecommunication systems architecture diagrams and engineering drawings.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and review deliverables to ensure technical integrity.
  • Conduct onshore and offshore site surveys as needed, and attend interface meetings to advance design scopes.
  • Review vendor offers for telecommunications systems and prepare technical evaluation reports.
  • Direct the preparation of documentation for assigned projects and ensure successful completion within budgeted time and costs.
  • Evaluate problems, organize investigations, and establish performance specifications for components and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards, and assist in the development of less senior technical professionals.
  • Participate in audits and incident investigations as required, and engage actively in design reviews.
  • Apply innovative approaches to solve complex engineering problems and anticipate potential challenges.
  • Support proposal development with technical input and may supervise small teams or provide guidance to others.
  • Coordinate engineering activities and ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Energy, and Environmental objectives.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Graduate (BSc. or MSc.).
  • Minimum of 15 years proven capability in an engineering design company.
  • Experience with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred.
  • Previous project experience with ADNOC is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with relevant international codes, standards, and recommended practices.
  • Competency in managing design activities within the Design-Check-Approve-Authorize cycle.
  • General knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight schedules in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Meets with UAE visa requirements.
