This position is for a Lead Field Engineer - Electrical who will provide oversight and be responsible for field engineering activities related to a portfolio of electrical systems installation projects. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of construction engineering practices. The successful candidate must display strong organizational and teamwork abilities, proven problem-solving skills, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to delivering results. The candidate will also be responsible for guiding less experienced multidisciplinary field engineers and construction office technical or clerical staff.

Project Overview
Expo 2030 Riyadh is a global platform where countries, organizations, and individuals will collaborate under the theme "Foresight for Tomorrow," promoting sustainable development and innovation. The event will take place from October 2030 to March 2031, expecting over 40 million visits. The 6 km² Masterplan includes extensive infrastructure and exhibition space for 197 participating countries and 29 international organizations. The company will manage the infrastructure program, which includes early works, utilities, and public spaces, ultimately transitioning into a mixed-use legacy development post-event.

Major Responsibilities

  • Lead the construction quality program, including quality audits, FAT procedures/testing, and compliance site inspections.
  • Provide technical oversight to ensure contractor compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards while adhering to schedules and safety codes.
  • Facilitate coordination across disciplines and with engineering for timely and accurate construction information.
  • Monitor installation contractor performance, project status, schedule, cost control, and change management systems.
  • Lead technical coordination at the site with contractors, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure continuous availability of construction work fronts through review of schedules, commodity charts, and engineering deliverables.
  • Verify that required permits and licenses meet stipulations before work begins.
  • Oversee a team of Field Engineers responsible for reviewing and approving contractor submittals and technical queries.
  • Ensure that all materials and equipment comply with international standards and technical specifications.
  • Maintain effective relationships with functional departments and coordinate jobsite contractual activities.
  • Provide guidance to construction engineers and monitor contractor performance.
  • Coordinate and monitor interfaces with other contractors, leading review meetings.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in large scale construction works in a contractor role or a senior role in a Project Management Consultant/Delivery Partner.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience managing contractor performance in relation to progress, quality, and compliance.
  • Thorough knowledge of international standards, specifications, and codes (e.g., International Building Code, Saudi Electrical Code).
  • Familiarity with process improvement tools (e.g., Six Sigma) is preferred.
  • Experience in KSA/Middle East/GCC preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster a positive work environment among clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently and exercising professional judgment; able to take ownership of projects and provide technical leadership.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience supervising and managing subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of safety codes and electrical installations relevant to construction works.
  • Familiarity with Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and permits to work.
  • Preferred experience in managing the installation of:
    • Site-wide MV electrical distribution
    • MV to LV transformers or switchgear
    • Large electrical equipment in publicly occupied buildings
    • Bulk electrical LV installations, including cable management and raceway
    • Building electrical networks and fire/safety systems
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing ES&H and quality management systems.
