As the Lead Frontend Engineer, you will guide a talented team of frontend engineers aimed at delivering exceptional user experiences for our products. This role fuses your technical proficiency with leadership skills, playing a crucial part in shaping the vision, strategy, and execution of our frontend solutions. Your responsibilities will include collaboration with cross-functional teams—such as product, design, and backend engineering—to create scalable, maintainable, and performance-driven user interfaces.
Responsibilities:
- Direct product development from the frontend perspective by defining user experience and obtaining stakeholder buy-in.
- Create and popularize frontend component libraries across the company.
- Conduct code reviews and define both high-level and low-level implementation tasks for the team.
- Collaborate on use case definitions with the product team and customers.
- Produce design mockups for team use.
- Oversee the release process of frontend applications.
- Manage a small team of 2-3 frontend developers.
- Ensure compliance with QHSE policies, procedures, and relevant risk assessments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in developing frontend applications.
- At least 5 years of strong experience with the React frontend framework.
- 2-3 years of excellent knowledge of the Node.js server-side framework.
- Experience contributing to open-source projects and familiarity with state management packages, such as Mobx or Redux.
- Proficient in CSS with knowledge of TailwindCSS.
- Understanding and experience with network graph visualization libraries (e.g., Sigma.js or Cytoscape) and chart libraries.
- Experience with Elasticsearch queries is a plus.
- Knowledge of various image, audio, and video file types (manipulation, transcoding).
- Familiarity with build pipelines on GitHub and GitLab.
