We are seeking a Lead Golang Software Engineer who strives for high engineering quality, seeks continuous improvement, and applies their skills at work. This position presents an exciting opportunity to work with popular software systems and open-source solutions within the Commercial Systems unit, which consists of seven engineering teams collaborating closely with other teams at Canonical.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop engineering solutions leveraging Golang.
- Lead technical designs, code reviews, and implementation.
- Deploy and operate services developed by the team.
- Coach, mentor, and offer career development feedback to colleagues.
- Develop and promote best engineering and organizational practices.
Requirements:
- Exceptional academic track record.
- Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or equivalent experience.
- Experience with software development in Golang.
- Professional written and spoken English with strong presentation skills.
- Result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments.
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year.
Nice-to-have Skills:
- Performance engineering and security experience.
- Experience with accounting, sales, or other business roles.
