We are seeking a Lead Golang Software Engineer who will focus on engineering quality, continuous improvement, and skill development. This role offers a chance to engage with popular software systems and open-source solutions. In particular, candidates may work with the following teams within the Commercial Systems unit:
- Billing Team: Develops a Golang service for metrics conversion and billing accuracy.
- Contracts Team: Creates a service for contract management, integrating with CRM and accounting systems.
- Livepatch Team: Focuses on delivering Linux kernel patches to address critical vulnerabilities.
- Ubuntu Pro Backend Team: Develops backend services for Ubuntu Pro subscription management.
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop engineering solutions using Golang
- Lead technical designs, code reviews, and implementations
- Deploy and operate services created by the team
- Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback
Qualifications:
- Exceptional academic background, with an undergraduate degree in a technical subject
- Experience in software development with Golang
- Proficiency in written and spoken English with strong presentation skills
- Results-oriented attitude with a personal drive to meet commitments
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events (up to two weeks long)
Desired Skills:
- Experience in performance engineering and security
- Familiarity with accounting or sales operations
