Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Understand customer specifications and standard guidelines such as CIS benchmark and IEC62443, and prepare a compliance list in case of any deviations.
- Lead the design and implementation of secure OT network architectures, ensuring proper segmentation between IT and OT networks.
- Prepare essential design documents, including:
- System Architecture
- Logical Architecture
- Bill of Material with the latest available hardware and software
- Functional Design Specification
- Detail Design Specification
- Factory Acceptance Test Procedure
- Site Acceptance Test Procedure
- Method Statement for Integration and Modification
- Conduct and oversee regular risk assessments of the OT environment, identifying vulnerabilities and potential threats.
- Ensure the DCS is adequately segmented from other networks to minimize risks of potential intrusions.
- Collaborate closely with customer OT cybersecurity teams to ensure consistent security practices across IT and OT landscapes, and understand unique requirements and challenges.
- Review and assess third-party vendors for compliance with company security policies.
- Recommend security enhancements and purchases to fortify the OT environments for client benefit.
- Provide training and guidance to OT engineers on security best practices, including conducting cyber security training for customer personnel.
- Execute regular security audits and assessments of the OT infrastructure to ensure compliance with industry regulations, such as IEC 62443 and NERC CIP.
- Engage with client personnel and other stakeholders to align on cybersecurity priorities.
- Interact with various OEMs to determine the best solutions for requirements.
- Support decision-making on hardware selection based on cost-effectiveness and compliance with CRS.
- Collaborate with the DCS team to address vulnerabilities and ensure the secure integration of system components.
Qualification and Experience
- 10 to 15+ years of experience in IT/OT focused on network configuration and cybersecurity implementation.
- Previous experience in leading a team of network and system security engineers.
- Certifications in relevant products such as:
- Cisco
- Nozomi
- Palo Alto
- VMware
- Preferred certifications include:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Required Competencies / Skills
- Switches – L2/L3
- Configuration knowledge of L2 and L3 switches, hardening, and troubleshooting.
- Deep knowledge of ACLs: managing strict access controls for DCS environments.
- Familiarity with products such as Hirschmann, Cisco, and other industrial switches, along with designing and implementing networks using layer concepts.
- Windows Security Update System (WSUS)
- Patch management experience to ensure minimal disruption during updates.
- Network Management System (NMS)
- Configuration of monitoring systems like What's Up Gold.
- Ability to create architecture diagrams and dashboards.
- Antivirus
- Experience with McAfee AV EPO and whitelisting techniques.
- Desktop-Hardening Systems
- Knowledge of antivirus protection, whitelisting, change control, and data loss prevention.
- Virtual Machine
- Hands-on experience designing VM HA clusters and architectures, with knowledge of VMware – vSphere and Hyper-V.
- Backup & Recovery
- Expertise in designing backup and recovery systems to ensure ICSS data integrity, including policies for backup systems, with advanced product knowledge of Veritas Net Backup, Acronis, and Veeam Backup & Replication.
