About the Role
The Lead Piping Designer will be instrumental in executing piping design activities for offshore oil and gas projects, contributing to the project's success through high-quality, safe, and timely delivery of design and related deliverables. The selected candidate will travel offshore to conduct site surveys, support brownfield assessments, and verify existing installations. Preference will be given to candidates with valid OPITO-approved T-BOSIET/BOSIET and H₂S certifications.

Job Purpose
- Conduct site surveys and obtain project-specific engineering data necessary for design and execution.
- Execute piping design activities within Concept, FEED (Front-End Engineering Design), and Detailed Engineering phases for Oil & Gas projects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers while coordinating with multi-discipline teams and clients.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Independently perform the piping design scope drawings for Concept, FEED, and Detail Engineering phases.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Maintain engineering integrity, quality assurance, and document control for all piping-related deliverables.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, toolbox talks, and knowledge sharing.
- Support field execution and construction activities, including site visits and as-built documentation.
- Develop complex piping designs, equipment layouts, plot plans, and general arrangement drawings using advanced 3D modeling software like E3D, SP3D, or AutoCAD to create detailed models and generate isometric drawings.
- Conduct site visits to verify/collect field data and assess project conditions.
- Review and provide comments on vendor drawings to ensure compatibility with the overall design.
Experience
- Over 20 years of experience with a proven track record in delivering offshore piping deliverables during Concept, FEED, and Detail Engineering phases in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Experience with ADNOC and Qatar Energies.
- Highly capable in preparing all piping engineering drawings independently while managing multiple projects.
- Experience in undertaking visits to offshore facilities and carrying out brownfield projects.
- Proficient in preparing plot plans, key plans, piping GA, and other piping deliverables in production facilities, well pads, pipelines, CFPS, production platforms, and gas plants.
Education & Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma or ITI in Piping and Mechanical Design.
- Proficiency in relevant 2D and 3D software (PDMS, E3D, SP3D, or AutoCAD Plant 3D).
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of drafting standards and industry applicable norms.
- Proficient in relevant codes and standards.
- Experience with 3D design and visualization tools and 2D drafting.
