Functional Activities:

Membrane Fabrication & Development:
- Formulate and synthesize polymer solutions for hollow fiber and flat sheet membranes.
- Operate membrane fabrication equipment.
- Optimize spinning/casting parameters for desired pore structure and mechanical properties.
- Incorporate nanomaterials or surface modifiers for enhanced performance.
- Fabricate ceramic membranes using various methods.

Module Assembly & Process Design:
- Assemble membrane modules using customized housings and spacers.
- Integrate modules into pilot and bench-scale treatment systems.
- Design and simulate membrane performance.

Performance Evaluation & Characterization:
- Conduct lab testing using real or synthetic feedwaters.
- Measure performance metrics and analyze membrane properties.

R&D Project Management:
- Manage projects as per established protocols, define experimental plans, and maintain detailed records.
- Collaborate with analytical teams and engineers.

Innovation, IP & Dissemination:
- Develop novel membrane compositions, support IP filing, and write scientific manuscripts.

Mentoring & Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Supervise junior researchers and train new team members.
Necessary Knowledge and Experience:
- Expertise in R&D initiatives in membrane design and performance optimization.
- Experience in developing and validating membrane modules for various applications.
- Ability to conduct experiments and analyze performance metrics.
- Strong understanding of water treatment technologies and process optimization methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor others.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in membrane fabrication or water treatment processes.
- Proven track record in relevant fabrication techniques and membrane characterization tools.
- Strong publication and/or patent record in relevant domains.
- Excellent project management, communication, and technical writing skills.
Language Requirements: Demonstrable abilities for effective English written and oral communication are essential.
