About the Role
This position involves working with Flowable BPM within various frameworks and technologies such as BPMN 2.0, CMMN, and DMN. You will engage in hands-on software engineering utilizing Java 17+, Spring Boot 3.x, REST, OpenAPI, and Kafka Events. Your responsibilities will include embedding, deploying, and operating process engines at scale, while ensuring effective process testing and utilization of tools like GitHub Actions, Maven/Gradle, Prometheus, and Grafana. Moreover, you will deal with sensitive data, applying practices related to PII handling and OAuth2/OIDC.

Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end BPM solutions in production, focusing on real-world applications rather than just modeling.
- Implement Java/Spring Boot applications, including delegates, REST clients, and tests independently.
- Collaborate within an Offshore Development Center or distributed engineering model as needed.
- Utilize tools and frameworks to ensure efficient development and operation of BPM processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 4 years dedicated to Flowable (or similar platforms like Activiti or Camunda, with a willingness to transition to Flowable).
- Proven experience in delivering BPM solutions in production environments, including all aspects of embedding and operating process engines.
- Strong development skills in Java and Spring Boot necessary to implement complex functionalities without Backend Engineer support.
- Preferred experience in sectors such as banking, fintech, insurance, or other regulated financial services.
- Educational background of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working in an Offshore Development Center or distributed team is advantageous.
- Certification in OMG BPMN or Flowable training is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Flowable Work, a low-code process application platform, and Flowable Engage.
- Knowledge of intelligent process automation, including integration of ML inference or LLM-based agents into BPMN processes.
- Familiarity with SWIFT messaging standards (MT/MX) particularly related to trade finance and banking workflows.
- Understanding of the CBUAE Open Banking API framework and its implications for compliance workflows.
- Knowledge of event sourcing patterns for process state reconstruction and auditing.
- Experience with RPA tools such as UiPath or Automation Anywhere, supporting BPM for legacy system integration.
