As a Lead Software Engineer specializing in flight control systems and companion compute platforms, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining software solutions for NXP-based PX4 flight controllers and Nvidia and Qualcomm mission computers. Your role involves optimizing software solutions for reliability, safety, and performance in complex UAV operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Autonomy Software Development:

    • Integrate robotics applications on NVIDIA & Qualcomm IQ9 platforms.
    • Develop and integrate ROS2-based nodes for autonomy stacks.
    • Optimize GPU-based AI/ML workloads for real-time applications.
  • System Integration and Middleware:

    • Implement secure application-level network protocols between robotic platforms and Ground Control Stations.
    • Develop tools and APIs for data exchange across mission-critical components.
    • Support multi-sensor integration with ROS2 middleware.
  • Security and Reliability:

    • Design cybersecurity measures for UAV autonomy software.
    • Conduct vulnerability assessments and apply secure coding practices.
  • Automation and DevOps:

    • Build CI/CD pipelines for deployment on NVIDIA Jetson and Qualcomm IQ9.
    • Use containerization and orchestration tools to manage autonomous flight stacks.
  • Engineering Process Optimization:

    • Implement telemetry and diagnostics for system monitoring.
    • Define best practices for the software development lifecycle.

Necessary Knowledge and Experience:

  • 10+ years in robotics, autonomous systems, or safety-critical UxV platform development, ideally in defense or aerospace.
  • Proficiency in real-time embedded systems and Python for automation.
  • Strong experience with ROS2, MAVLink, and mission computer platforms.
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001, DO-326A, DevOps/CI/CD, and automated testing.
  • Strong English communication skills are required.

Education and Certification Requirements:

  • Experience in UAV or aerospace autonomy projects.
  • Contributors to the ROS2 or NVIDIA Jetson open-source communities are preferred.
