About the Role
This position involves extensive experience in the maintenance field, focusing on troubleshooting, testing & commissioning, repairing defects, and finding alternative solutions to ensure the power system is reliable across all electrical facilities. The role encompasses a variety of electrical equipment and systems, including but not limited to LV/HV switchgear, protection systems, SF6 Gas handling, VFD, UPS, Battery Charger, Battery Bank, Power Cable, transformers & their oil, motors, MOV, Generators, and heaters.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose equipment, locate faulty components, and determine the nature of repairs and required spare parts to plan work effectively.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical equipment (e.g., thermography, transformer oil analysis, partial discharges).
  • Assist in monitoring, facilitating, and controlling the work of contractors under OPEX/Service Contracts.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Identify and evaluate potential improvement opportunities to enhance electrical equipment and plant reliability.
  • Recommend modifications for improving existing facilities and suggest innovative ideas and methods for achieving better results.
  • Develop technical reports, conduct lessons learned sessions, and perform technical analysis as needed for department management.
  • Deliver training on various technical topics and generate guidelines for using electrical testing equipment.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Foreman.
  • Conduct testing on electrical equipment such as breakers, transformers, cables, and motors.
  • Utilize VFD software tools for programming, configuration, and diagnostics across various brands like TMEIC, Toshiba, ABB, Siemens, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and repair UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) equipment effectively.
  • Handle Protective Relaying Systems, Electric Metering/Measuring Devices, Intelligent Electrical Devices (IEDs), Power Monitoring and Control systems, including downloading protection settings, evaluating these settings, testing all protection functions, and safely uploading protection settings.
  • Adhere to PRC safety standards and guidelines.

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma in Electrical Discipline with a minimum of 8 years in the Refining and Petrochemical industry.
  • Strong analytical skills, results orientation, conceptualization skills, and leadership abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency with computer applications (Office tools, SAP applications).
  • Extensive experience in diagnostics and repair methods for electrical equipment in refining and petrochemical sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of international maintenance standards and best practices.
