Lead Testing & Commissioning Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Lead Testing & Commissioning Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be leading all on-site activities of a project to assure cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements during the start-up, construction and/or erection, commissioning, maintenance phases.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Planning project on-site activities with the project manager, including necessary local resources, equipment, and milestones.
• Capable of handling hands-on testing activities on-site.
• Lead Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities on the assigned project and coordinate with clients and consultants.
• TAQA and other Utilities approval or Competency are mandatory requirements.
• Hands-on experience in Testing & Commissioning of Switchgear, Protection relay, and Scheme checks.
• Test various components like Circuit breakers, CT, VT, Aux relays, and Interlocks verification.
• Conduct Bus Bar protection scheme, Bus Bar protection Sensitivity & Stability test, and Transformer differential & REF protection Sensitivity & Stability test.
• Plan the ITC schedule in line with the project completion date, including weekly and monthly witness schedule preparation and monitoring in line with the baseline program.
• Coordinate agreement between the customer and external resources on construction targets, health and safety requirements, site organization, and policy.
• Responsible for coordinating all on-site activities from receiving the assigned site area from the customer or project manager to handing over to the end customer on completion day, ensuring successful execution of start-up, construction, erection, testing and commissioning activities in alignment with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements.
• Serve as a project representative by building and maintaining effective relationships with customers and other local organizations such as authorities, banks, and suppliers to ensure their active support of field activities.
• Ensure that a detailed and up-to-date construction Health & Safety (H&S) plan is in place for each work package, compliant with the company HSE plan.
• Ensure all on-site resources are properly trained on company health, safety, and environment policy and proactively promote health and safety.
• Ensure correct handling, storage, and installation of company-delivered equipment, coordinating on-site storage as well as shipment logistics to secure timely site delivery of equipment and materials.
• Manage the subcontractors on-site hired by the company to ensure necessary quality and progress are achieved to meet delivery date.
• Control project costs for site work, monitor actual spend against forecasts, and estimate final costs.
• Manage petty cash and have delegated authority for local purchasing within agreed limits.
• Ensure all documentation is modified and updated as necessary, maintain the document handling system, and use the latest revisions for construction work on-site.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

• A bachelor’s degree in electrical power, electronics & communication.
• 10 years of project experience in related fields.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong planning skills. Ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels.
• Ability to boost team morale to achieve goals.
• Proven leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
