About the role

Legal Engineering does not fit neatly into a traditional box. It combines legal practice, product fluency, client leadership, and practical change management. The job exists because software alone does not change how legal work gets done. Someone has to understand the work well enough to redesign it, and be credible enough that lawyers listen.

As a Legal Engineer in Dubai, you will work with law firms and in-house legal teams across the Middle East: running pilots, leading onboarding and rollouts, designing the workflows that make the platform genuinely useful for a specific team, and teaching people to use it well. When something does not work, you will find out why, and either fix it with the client or escalate it to Product with sufficient evidence to act on.

This is a client-facing craft role, not an account-management role. The measure of your work is whether real lawyers do real work differently because of what you built and taught.

The legal landscape in the Middle East includes federal law, emirate-level systems, and the common-law free zones of DIFC and ADGM, with specific attention to Arabic-language work and data protection requirements.

As part of an early team in Dubai, you will help shape how Legal Engineering operates in the region rather than follow a pre-existing playbook.

What the work involves

The shape of the work is consistent across seniority, with changes in the scale of what you own:

• Learn the product thoroughly and stay updated.
• Translate real legal workflows into working company use cases, testing against practice standards.
• Conduct demos, workshops, and training focused on the client's work.
• Plan and own pilots and rollouts, defining success metrics upfront.
• Build trust with various stakeholders, from day-to-day contacts to senior legal executives.
• Capture product gaps and client needs clearly and with enough evidence for actionable insights.
• Create reusable materials like templates and guides to expedite future engagements.
• Collaborate with Go-to-Market and Engagement colleagues to ensure commercial momentum and delivery quality.
• Share insights on how AI is transforming legal work effectively.

What we look for

Five key qualities matter at every level:

• Product knowledge and application: Configure use cases from established patterns and own priority cases as you gain experience.
• Communication: Provide clear follow-ups and tailored demos initially, leading engaging sessions with senior lawyers as you grow.
• Project and programme management: Independently manage workstreams early on, transitioning to complex rollouts with governance as your experience builds.
• Stakeholder management: Build reliable and responsive relationships, advancing to managing senior stakeholder dynamics and resolving conflicts.
• Thought leadership: Confidently explain AI's role in legal work early on, progressing to leading discussions and creating enablement materials later.

Prior experience specifically in a Legal Engineering role is not required. What matters is that you possess the essential capabilities in your previous settings.

Seniority, title, and level

We hire across a spectrum, from around one year to over ten years of relevant experience. Titles range from Legal Engineering Associate to Lead Legal Engineer. Titles will be determined during the offer stage based on experience and performance in the process.

What you bring

• Have a legal qualification and practical experience in a law firm or in-house legal function, with credibility among senior legal stakeholders in the region.
• Be genuinely curious about generative AI and eager to learn new tools.
• Be able to translate technical concepts to legal professionals and vice versa.
• Exhibit strong organizational skills, providing structure and meeting deadlines with proactive communication.
• Be adaptable to an early-stage environment where priorities shift.
• Care about client outcomes more than just the quality of the demo.
• Communicate fluently in English, with Arabic preferred.
• Be based in Dubai and able to work from the office five days per week, with some travel across the region.
