Job Description
The role encompasses budget and revenue responsibilities including the development and administration of schedules and performance requirements. You will manage a multi-discipline LOF engineering team to support offshore operations and base activities, ensuring that engineering resources are allocated effectively according to project and operational needs. The potential impact of inaccurate decisions in this role includes missed critical goals and the potential loss of business or customer trust.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire LOF base engineering team, ensuring appropriate staffing and skills are aligned with project and operational needs.
- Maintain the knowledge and competencies of the engineering team through effective selection and training in accordance with project requirements.
- Validate project scope and resources during the establishment of the engineering organization on projects.
- Ensure compliance with the company engineering design and manufacturing standards, procedures, and processes while upholding quality targets and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor the performance of the engineering team during projects, ensuring adherence to the company processes and standards.
- Foster regional LOF engineering technical integrity and growth by collaborating with LOF support centers and engineering partners.
- Create and update discipline reference documentation while promoting the dissemination of best practices through group activities.
- Set and manage performance goals and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the team.
You are meant for this job if:
Required Knowledge/Formal Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred) or relevant tertiary education in Oil & Gas discipline.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 10+ years in the Oil and Gas Industry, particularly in Surface D&C equipment.
- At least 3 years in a Lead or Supervisory role.
Required Certificates:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred) or relevant tertiary education in Oil & Gas discipline.
Required Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to coordinate multi-discipline projects and teams.
- Advanced project management skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in English.
Required Technical Skills and Problem-Solving Skills:
- Knowledge of Surface wellhead and tree equipment or related subsea equipment.
- Familiarity with the installation and operation of Surface wellhead and associated equipment.
- Understanding of well architecture, drilling operations, and general Oil & Gas industry dynamics.
- Knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, DNV, NORSOK).
- Ability to analyze diverse scopes of issues and formulate innovative solutions to complex problems.
Required Managerial Skills:
- Operates with a high degree of autonomy, guided by established policies and procedures, while consulting senior managers in complex situations.
- Provides technical guidance and support to team members, colleagues, and customers.
