As a Linux Devices Software Engineer, you will work on projects that include Ubuntu Core and snapd software development, silicon software optimization, kernel driver and hardware enablement, and more. You will have the opportunity to engage with the open-source community, contribute to a wide array of technologies, and help deploy Ubuntu and Ubuntu Core across various devices.

What Your Day Will Look Like:

  • Work with the latest Linux kernel and open-source technologies.
  • Deliver Ubuntu for the latest IoT and server-class hardware platforms.
  • Integrate and maintain device-oriented software stacks.
  • Collaborate proactively with globally distributed teams.
  • Write high-quality, well-designed software and debug issues effectively.
  • Contribute to technical documentation.
  • Participate in customer engagements involving system architectures from cloud to edge.

Work Conditions:

  • This is a remote position with the flexibility to work from home.
  • Travel is expected 2 to 4 weeks a year for company events.

What We Are Looking For:

  • An exceptional academic record (high school and university).
  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related STEM field.
  • Experience with Linux, preferably Debian or Ubuntu.
  • Fluency in Golang, C, C++, or Rust.
  • Professional written and spoken English proficiency.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a self-motivated attitude.

Additional Skills That You Might Bring:

  • Familiarity with Debian/Ubuntu packaging and build systems.
  • Experience with low-level system components like firmware, boot loaders, or power management.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture (x86, ARM, RISC-V).
  • Shell or Python scripting skills.
