Job Description: The role involves performing end-to-end Linux administration tasks, fixing performance issues and operational bottlenecks, troubleshooting and providing fixes with L3 actions for certain system issues or components, and taking prompt analysis and mitigation actions. Additional responsibilities include administering high availability (HA) of infrastructure systems on RHEL, OEL & AIX, managing IaaS Linux instances on multiple cloud platforms, and working as a cloud infra-administrator. The candidate will also be responsible for infrastructure monitoring and reporting validation, operational process automation, patch management, and ensuring security compliance and adherence, along with system tuning and compliance with CIS hardening standards.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform end-to-end Linux administration tasks.
- Fix performance issues and operational bottlenecks.
- Troubleshoot and provide fixes with L3 actions for certain system issues or components.
- Prompt analysis and mitigation actions.
- Administer high availability (HA) of infrastructure systems on RHEL, OEL & AIX.
- Administer the IaaS Linux instances on multiple cloud platforms.
- Work as a cloud infra-administrator managing technical procedures for all the Linux instances and related components in multiple cloud tenancy.
- Infrastructure monitoring and reporting validation.
- Operational process automation to the maximum extent.
- Patch management for cloud and on-prem physical & virtual servers, YUM repositories & RedHat Satellite management.
- Ensure security compliance and adherence, system tuning, apply security best practices, comply with CIS hardening standards.
Must-Have Skills:
- Good hands-on knowledge and experience in LMV operations and LV migration across servers.
- Proficiency in system hardening.
- Working knowledge of Linux HA cluster, GFS2 clusters.
- Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments.
- Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages.
- Good understanding of Linux firewalls, proficient with network tools such as iptables.
- Ability to build and monitor services on production servers.
- Understanding and working experience of IBM AIX.
- Understanding of configuration management tools, such as Puppet and Chef (advantageous).
- Experience with RedHat Satellite Manager, RHUI (advantageous).
- Expected to be a RedHat certified professional; cloud certification with Azure / Oracle / IBM Cloud (advantageous).
- Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals - DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSH, DHCP, etc.
- Strong Linux skills (RHCSA, RHCSE).
Language Requirements:
Fluency in English is expected; additional language skills may be an advantage.
