Responsibilities:
- Architect and manage Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, SUSE) for critical infrastructure.
- Design and manage AIX servers in pSeries architecture, including LPARs, VIO servers, and PowerVM environments.
- Automate OS deployments, patching, and configuration using Ansible and SaltStack.
- Integrate Unix systems with security controls and monitoring tools to ensure compliance with security standards.
- Analyze performance bottlenecks and provide permanent fixes via root cause analysis of Linux/AIX systems.
- Collaborate on disaster recovery readiness and participate in high-availability testing.
- Provide technical support in infrastructure services, responding to issues and assisting in tasks.
- Contribute to the implementation of infrastructure projects and assignments.
- Support the development of infrastructure documentation, including incident logs and configuration records.
- Apply technical knowledge to address Linux/AIX infrastructure-related challenges.
- Follow established best practices and standards in infrastructure service delivery.
Required Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of Linux OS internals and kernel tuning.
- Expertise in AIX OS, PowerHA, PowerVM, NIM, and VIO servers.
- Experience with virtualization (KVM, VMware) and hybrid infrastructure.
- Awareness of CIS hardening, log forwarding, and SIEM integration.
- Proficient in security compliance standards and OS-level auditing.
- Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or similar automation tools.
- Experience in setting up Linux Centralized management tools (RedHat Satellite/SUSE Manager) and patch management.
- Good knowledge of hybrid IT environments.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience in the industry, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role.
- Proven experience in infrastructure technology analysis.
- Proficient in data analysis and technical knowledge.
- A continuous learner who stays abreast of industry knowledge and technology.
Other Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus.
- Relevant certifications, such as Linux/AIX Certifications.
