Position

In this position, you will be responsible for architecting and leading operations for infrastructure services. Your capabilities will include managing various versions of Linux, AIX, and container platforms. The Linux Engineer will lead the administration and support of mission-critical Linux environments hosted across physical, virtual, and hybrid platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Architecting and managing Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, SUSE) for critical infrastructure.
  • Designing and managing AIX servers in pSeries architecture, including LPARs, VIO servers, and PowerVM environments.
  • Automating OS deployments, patching, and configuration using tools like Ansible and SaltStack.
  • Integrating Unix systems with security controls to ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Analyzing performance bottlenecks and conducting root cause analysis for Linux/AIX systems.
  • Supporting disaster recovery readiness and high-availability testing.
  • Providing technical support in infrastructure services and contributing to the documentation of infrastructure projects.

Required Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Linux OS internals and kernel tuning.
  • Expertise in AIX OS, PowerHA, PowerVM, NIM, and VIO servers.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware) and hybrid infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of security compliance standards and OS-level auditing.
  • Proficiency with automation tools such as Ansible and Puppet.
  • Familiarity with centralized management tools (RedHat Satellite/SUSE Manager) and patch management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience in the industry, including a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role.
  • Proven experience in infrastructure technology analysis and data analysis.

Other Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in Linux/AIX are desirable.
