Responsibilities:
- Architect and manage Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, SUSE) for critical infrastructure.
- Design and manage AIX servers in pSeries architecture, including LPARs, VIO servers, and PowerVM environments.
- Automate OS deployments, patching, and configuration using Ansible and SaltStack.
- Integrate Unix systems with security controls and monitoring tools to ensure compliance with security standards.
- Analyze performance bottlenecks and provide permanent solutions via root cause analysis.
- Collaborate on disaster recovery readiness and participate in high-availability testing.
- Provide technical support in infrastructure services by responding to issues and assisting in tasks.
- Contribute to the implementation of infrastructure projects and assignments.
- Support the development of infrastructure documentation, including incident logs and configuration records.
- Address Linux/AIX infrastructure-related challenges using technical knowledge.
Required Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of Linux OS internals and kernel tuning.
- Expertise in AIX OS, PowerHA, PowerVM, NIM, and VIO servers.
- Experience with virtualization (KVM, VMware) and hybrid infrastructure.
- Proficiency in security compliance standards and OS-level auditing, including CIS hardening and log forwarding.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or similar.
- Experience setting up Linux centralized management tools (RedHat Satellite/SUSE Manager) and managing patches.
- Good knowledge of hybrid IT environments.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience in industry, including a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role.
- Proven experience in infrastructure technology analysis and data analysis.
- A continuous learner that stays updated with industry knowledge and technology.
Other Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus.
- Relevant certifications, such as Linux/AIX certifications, are preferred.
