Position

This role involves leading the architecture and management of Linux and AIX systems, as well as containerized environments, to support critical infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining servers, automating deployments and configurations, and ensuring compliance with security standards. The position requires strong collaboration on disaster recovery readiness, high-availability testing, and providing technical support for infrastructure tasks. Additionally, you will contribute to project implementations and develop comprehensive infrastructure documentation while following industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and manage Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, SUSE) for critical infrastructure.
  • Design and manage AIX servers in pSeries architecture, including LPARs, VIO servers, and PowerVM environments.
  • Automate OS deployments, patching, and configuration using Ansible and SaltStack.
  • Integrate Unix systems with security controls and monitoring tools to ensure system compliance with security standards.
  • Analyze performance bottlenecks and provide permanent fixes via root cause analysis of Linux/AIX systems.
  • Collaborate on DR readiness and participate in high-availability testing.
  • Provide technical support in infrastructure services, responding to issues and assisting in tasks.
  • Contribute to the implementation of infrastructure projects and assignments.
  • Support the development of infrastructure documentation, including incident logs and configuration records.
  • Apply technical knowledge to address Linux/AIX infrastructure-related challenges.
  • Follow established best practices and standards in infrastructure service delivery.
  • Utilize technical skills to address infrastructure issues and incidents.

Required Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Linux OS internals and kernel tuning.
  • Expertise in AIX OS, PowerHA, PowerVM, NIM, and VIO servers.
  • Experience with virtualization (KVM, VMware) and hybrid infrastructure.
  • Awareness of CIS hardening, log forwarding, and SIEM integration.
  • Proficient in security compliance standards and OS-level auditing.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Puppet.
  • Experience in setting up Linux centralized management tools (RedHat Satellite/SUSE Manager) and patch management.
  • Good knowledge of hybrid IT environments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience in the industry, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role.
  • Proven experience in infrastructure technology analysis.
  • Proficiencies in data analysis and technical knowledge.
  • A continuous learner that stays abreast of industry knowledge and technology.

Other Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Linux/AIX Certifications are beneficial.
