The Manager, Trader Engineering (Web UI - React) will lead the development of the web trading platform. Responsibilities will include a mix of hands-on development, team leadership, and strategic planning. The successful candidate will drive the technical direction of the platform, ensuring high performance, reliability, security, and an exceptional user experience.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of software engineers, mentoring team members and fostering a collaborative, innovative, high-performance culture.
- Design and architect complex software systems, focusing on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to define and execute the roadmap for the web trading platform.
- Provide technical guidance and contribute to architecture and design decisions.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies and frameworks for development based on business requirements and industry trends.
- Promote collaboration across teams and departments, including UX/UI design, product, QA, and DevOps.
- Oversee the development process to ensure high-quality code; manage testing and deployment to minimize bugs and enhance user experience.
- Implement strategies for managing the team’s workload and resource utilization while managing risks to ensure timely project delivery.
- Implement robust security measures to safeguard financial data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for software architecture, design decisions, and coding practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience building complex, real-time web applications with React and TypeScript, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in developing trading or financial services UIs with experience in high-frequency data streaming and real-time user interactions.
- Strong experience with reactive programming patterns, particularly RxJS, and mastery of state management solutions like React-RxJS.
- Hands-on experience in building and maintaining shared component libraries and design systems.
- Background in comprehensive testing strategies including unit, integration, and E2E testing.
- Experience collaborating with backend teams on full-stack trading platforms.
Skills:
- Expert proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript, with an understanding of performance optimization.
- Advanced skills in RxJS and reactive programming.
- Strong knowledge of frontend testing frameworks and ability to define testing strategies for complex applications.
- Proficient with modern build tooling and frontend observability tools.
- Understanding of internationalization, accessibility standards, and responsive interface design.
