We are seeking a strategic and experienced Manager - Backend Engineering to lead the growth of our backend engineering team. This role encompasses developing robust, scalable, and secure backend solutions while nurturing a high-performance engineering culture. You will be pivotal in driving project success, mentoring engineers, and ensuring technical deliverables align with organizational goals and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a backend engineering team, managing resources, project prioritization, and team productivity.
- Engineering Execution: Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of backend systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive engineering best practices.
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Work with product managers to define project specifications, drive feature implementations, and own the team's roadmap.
- Collaboration & Communication: Serve as the liaison between the frontend team and stakeholders, ensuring seamless project integration and communication.
- Technology Trends: Stay updated on emerging technologies and ensure compliance with relevant organizational policies.
Qualifications Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, Data Science, etc.).
- 10+ years of backend engineering experience with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in building and managing high-performing engineering teams.
- Expertise in backend system design using Java, Golang, Python, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with databases (MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and modern architecture patterns.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and tools like Docker, Kafka, and Elastic Search.
- Skilled in automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
