About the Role The role is focused on safeguarding the bank from financial penalties and regulatory actions associated with non-compliance to Financial Crime Controls (FCC) laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will ensure that all processes and controls necessary to comply with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT) regulations are effectively integrated into the bank’s procedures. Responsibilities - Assist with the implementation of an effective FCRA program across the Bank to mitigate risks related to Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing, Proliferation Financing, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC). - Facilitate external regulatory examinations, internal audits, and coordinate with business units to ensure timely closure of any audit findings or action items resulting from these audits. - Monitor emerging money laundering trends and provide recommendations that align with the bank’s risk-based AML policy, KYC guidance, and risk appetite framework. - Conduct investigations as deemed necessary or as directed by Regulators, AML/CFT, Sanctions, and HO-Compliance units. - Proactively recommend improvements to the Compliance framework and structure in accordance with business needs and HO Compliance guidelines. - Assist HO Compliance in formulating bank-wide policies, including AML policy, the Semi-Annual MLRO Report, KYC Guidance for high-risk jurisdictions and conflict zones, and personal investment policies. - Facilitate Compliance Regulatory projects and oversee the implementation of initiatives across all locations. - Develop strong professional relationships with relevant Regulatory Authorities to ensure full cooperation and timely resolution of queries, including delivery of necessary Regulatory reporting. - Share regular updates, communications, and developments from a Regulatory perspective that are relevant to the business, enhancing compliance awareness and understanding among stakeholders. - Proactively coordinate with other Embedded Compliance Functions (ECF) as necessary for timely closure of cross-group or pan-bank issues in collaboration with HO Compliance. - Develop and maintain effective record-keeping practices. - Plan and manage the budget expectations efficiently. Requirements Candidates should possess relevant experience in compliance and regulatory affairs, specifically in the financial services industry. A strong understanding of AML/CFT regulations and audit processes is essential.
