Manager: Design & Interface

In a world of possibilities, pursue one with endless opportunities at the company. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Design & Interface to support our growing team. This is an integrated team-client-facing role responsible for managing and assuring the end-to-end design and interface coordination process across multiple disciplines and projects. The role emphasizes engineering governance, interface management, and safety assurance rather than operations. Acting on behalf of the client, the Project Manager ensures that all designers, contractors, and systems integrators deliver coordinated, safe, and compliant designs that meet the employer’s requirements and project objectives for scope, time, cost, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary PMC focal point for design coordination and interface management.
• Represent the client in high-level design, coordination, and interface meetings.
• Ensure employer’s requirements and safety obligations are understood and implemented.
• Provide independent advice to client leadership on engineering, safety, and program matters.
• Lead and manage the design process across various disciplines.
• Review design submissions and comments to ensure compliance with project standards and regulations.
• Chair design review workshops and constructability reviews.
• Monitor and enforce adherence to technical assurance and design governance processes.
• Manage the project-wide interface management framework and identify key interfaces.
• Ensure safety by design and coordinate with independent safety assessors and regulators.
• Maintain design and interface risk registers and provide concise reports to the client.
• Lead and mentor a team of design managers and engineers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related discipline) required.
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Project Management or related field is an advantage.
• Professional engineering registration (CEng, PE) highly desirable.
• Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) advantageous.
• Approximately 15 years of experience in major infrastructure or complex multi-discipline projects.
• Proven experience managing design and build contracts in a PMC, client or consultancy role.
• Strong technical understanding of multi-discipline design processes.
• Excellent project management, planning, and coordination skills.
• Proficiency with project management tools and familiarity with requirements management systems is a plus.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in Arabic is ideal.
