The role involves designing, implementing, and maturing enterprise data management capabilities, particularly in the oil and gas sector. You will leverage deep knowledge of data management frameworks and standards, collaborating with data engineers, architects, and senior business stakeholders to deliver secure and operational data solutions.

Technical Capabilities:

  • 8-10 years of experience in data management across the oil and gas industry, with focus on Upstream sector
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as DAMA, DCAM, CMMI’s DMM, and PPDM
  • Proven delivery experience in data governance, metadata management, data quality, master & reference data management, and data architecture
  • Experience with leading data management tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica Axon) and integration with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Exposure to data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance in oil and gas environments

Functional Capabilities:

  • Strong commercial acumen with ability to identify data management opportunities that drive measurable business value
  • Client engagement and account handling: managing stakeholder expectations and presenting to C-suite audiences
  • Translating technical concepts into business cases that support investment decisions for data management initiatives
  • Identifying process improvements and leading change programs to integrate data capabilities into business operations

Leadership Capabilities:

  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams
  • Take ownership of engagement financials, resource planning, and manage delivery quality
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with influence at executive levels

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or related disciplines
  • 10-15 years of experience in data management or related fields, with significant exposure to the oil & gas industry
  • Proven track record in leading data governance and quality programs
  • Strong communication skills; fluent in English (written & spoken)

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Consulting/Big Four is preferred
  • Experience with International Oil Companies (IOCs) is a plus
  • Arabic language skills are an advantage
  • Professional Certification in DAMA, DCAM, CDMP, or CMMI’s DMM is advantageous
