Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Key Accountabilities:
- Oversee all geomatics activities and geo-data management within the company Upstream, ensuring that all existing and newly acquired data is correctly geo-referenced.
- Manage geo-spatial data governance, including policies, guidelines, processes, and workflows.
- Lead the utilization of geo-information and satellite imagery to add value for the company Upstream Exploration & UIM functions.
- Provide project management and financial oversight of local geomatics work within the company Group companies.
- Plan, control, and assess geodetic, cartographic, and GIS data for accuracy, completeness, quality, and integrity.
- Implement new procedures, methods, and technologies in cartography to enhance service quality and speed.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geographic Science, Computer Science, or Survey & Geomatics Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferable.
- Minimum 12 years of hands-on delivery of geospatial data and project support.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in a supervisory capacity, including developing staff and completing performance assessments.
- Significant demonstrated leadership experience managing, influencing, and supervising staff.
- Highly skilled in surveying, geodesy, mapping/GIS, and remote sensing.
- Knowledge of current trends and emerging issues in information technology, alongside geospatial best practices in large organizations.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability:
Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies and procedures across the Section. Ensure adequate HSE training and induction for all Section employees.
