Position

Lead the development and delivery of high-quality geospatial information services and solutions for the company & Upstream Group companies. Provide leadership and work collaboratively across the company Group to develop geomatics knowledge, skills, and awareness of services, and to build capacity.

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversee all geomatics activities and geo-data management within the company Upstream, ensuring that all existing and newly acquired data is correctly geo-referenced.
  • Manage geo-spatial data governance, including policies, guidelines, processes, and workflows.
  • Lead the utilization of geo-information and satellite imagery to add value for the company Upstream Exploration & UIM functions.
  • Provide project management and financial oversight of local geomatics work within the company Group companies.
  • Plan, control, and assess geodetic, cartographic, and GIS data for accuracy, completeness, quality, and integrity.
  • Implement new procedures, methods, and technologies in cartography to enhance service quality and speed.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geographic Science, Computer Science, or Survey & Geomatics Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferable.
  • Minimum 12 years of hands-on delivery of geospatial data and project support.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a supervisory capacity, including developing staff and completing performance assessments.
  • Significant demonstrated leadership experience managing, influencing, and supervising staff.
  • Highly skilled in surveying, geodesy, mapping/GIS, and remote sensing.
  • Knowledge of current trends and emerging issues in information technology, alongside geospatial best practices in large organizations.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability:
Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies and procedures across the Section. Ensure adequate HSE training and induction for all Section employees.
