About the Role
The role entails championing the Project Safety culture and engaging in various engineering activities, particularly focused on Piping Engineering issues within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sector. You will be responsible for reviewing, approving, and ensuring compliance of Contractor deliverables, while engaging with other stakeholders such as Owners, Licensors, and Contractors to maintain design integrity and optimize project outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Champion the Project Safety culture, behaviors, and engagement activities.
  • Identify, evaluate, and resolve Piping Engineering issues.
  • Review and approve Contractor key deliverables and works within the Mechanical (Piping) discipline, ensuring compliance with design requirements and Licensors’ PDPs.
  • Review and approve the following Contractor’s deliverables:
    • Equipment design and development.
    • System design, including concept sketches and layouts.
    • Testing of materials.
    • Specifications and design calculations.
    • Designs, drawings, and data by other Contractors or by Vendors.
    • Engineering studies and reports.
    • Material Requisitions for equipment & materials.
    • Material quantity estimates.
  • Review and approve key design documents from Vendors, equipment manufacturers, or Subcontractors and prepare comments and recommendations incorporating feedback from the Owner.
  • Attend technical meetings with Owners, Licensors, Contractors, and Vendors.
  • Participate in Project technical sessions conducted by the Contractor, such as Design Review Meetings, 3D Model Review Meetings, and HAZOP/HAZID sessions.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of EPC Contractor’s Mechanical (Piping) Engineering design activities, including system integration and design selection.
  • Supervise and manage the review and approval of Contractor’s work for compliance with specifications, relevant codes, and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate required Engineering participation in the development and analysis of design options and business models.
  • Provide technical guidance for the development of new specifications and the updating of existing ones to meet Owner requirements.
  • Facilitate other discipline Engineers’ participation in layout reviews, design evaluations, and workshops.
  • Influence the optimization of Facilities and Equipment design.
  • Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline Engineers.
  • Manage technical reviews and analysis during vendor prequalification, bid evaluation, and performance assessment.
  • Coordinate the review of technical bid submissions and conduct technical bid analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical) or equivalent from an accredited university, with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, including at least five (5) years in the GCC region.
  • A minimum of five (5) years in a similar position on major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, managing a team of Specialists, Senior Engineers, and Engineers.
  • Mandatory offshore experience (Barge, Platform, Complex, etc.).
  • Experience in Booster Pump Projects, Debottlenecking, and Flare Minimization Projects.
  • Required ADNOC & Offshore project experience.
  • Preferable experience in Project Management Consultancy (PMC).
  • Experience in FEED & EPC Phases is required.
