ABOUT THE ROLE
A PMO Project Manager is a specialized professional responsible for delivering strategic initiatives while embedding standardized governance, processes, and methodologies across the Directed Energy portfolio. The Project Manager plans, executes, and delivers corporate projects within scope, budget, and time constraints. This role ensures that all projects strictly adhere to the PMO's governance structure, utilizes standardized tools, and directly aligns with the company's long-term strategic goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain project controls and track key metrics (KPIs) regarding baseline vs. actual schedule variance and quality.
  • Ensure that all vendor agreements, service-level agreements (SLAs), and statements of work (SOWs) strictly align with project goals, risk limits, and financial budgets.
  • Monitor vendor performance against contractual deadlines, tracking delivery dates, milestones, and quality thresholds.
  • Control contract scope creep, ensuring that any project changes undergo formal approvals to prevent uncontrolled costs.
  • Prepare weekly or monthly progress reports for steering committees and senior leadership.
  • Manage individual project budgets, forecast actual costs against planned baselines, and calculate monetary risks.
  • Manage the full project lifecycle from project charter initiation to closing, and document lessons learned.
  • Lead the project activities, including scheduling, planning, and final acceptance of documentation prior to Factory/Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT), TRR, and other related tests.
  • Collaborate closely with end users and internal stakeholders to understand technical requirements and specifications and hold regular meetings with suppliers to keep updated on installation status.
  • Ensure that all project management reporting data complies with corporate and state security regulations, avoiding leakage of restricted technical parameters.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 7 years in the defense industry with demonstrated experience working within agile or hybrid development cycles.
  • Typically 5+ years of hands-on project management experience, ideally operating within a structured corporate PMO environment.
  • Bachelor’s / Master’s in Engineering, or other technical fields.
  • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or System Engineering (e.g., INCOSE CSEP) is preferable.
  • Strong knowledge of system installation.
  • Strong supplier relationship, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Deep understanding of the technical aspects of defense systems, including design, development, and integration.
