This position plays a critical role in leading the specification, identification, development, selection, and implementation of best-in-class project management processes, systems, and tools across the Group companies. The successful candidate will manage the rollout and maintenance of project management portfolio and control systems, ensuring efficient project management practices within the company. The role involves establishing standards, providing technical expertise, and coordinating knowledge sharing across the enterprise.
Key Accountabilities
Project Management Systems
- Lead the specification, identification, development, selection, and implementation rollout of best-in-class processes, systems, and tools, including but not limited to PM portfolio and project-based software, PS cost and scheduling software.
- Oversee the Group’s overall project management processes, systems, and tools; monitor alignment with defined targets, and identify deviations and risks to report to the Head of Function.
- Act as the custodian of group-specific Project Management Systems Standards, Procedures, methodologies, and tools, ensuring dissemination and compliance within the organization.
- Provide technical expertise on Project Management processes, systems, tools, and administration as needed.
- Lead the development of Project Management & Project Services competency and career development programs while establishing deployment guidelines to ensure the right capability for capital delivery success.
Project Control
- Support project managers in controlling individual projects by applying company methodologies, processes, and templates.
- Maintain project management and control systems for administration within projects.
- Support the timely identification of potential issues and implement mitigation actions as necessary.
- Drive timely Management of Change (MoC) for changes that may affect the asset and project and manage the MoC process.
- Educate the project management team and Integrated Project Management Team on project management and project services systems methodologies, processes, templates, etc.
Management
- Plan and supervise departmental activities and resources to achieve divisional objectives in an efficient and cost-conscious manner, ensuring implementation of approved operational plans.
- Develop knowledge, competencies, and innovation within the department, supporting Personal Development Plans (PDPs), Succession Planning, and the Talent pipeline, with an emphasis on UAE Nationals to meet Emiratization targets.
Budgets and Operational Plans
- Compile and provide input for the preparation of division budgets; regularly monitor expenditures against approved budget levels.
- Investigate and reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Lead the implementation of approved departmental policies, processes, systems, standards, and internal controls to support the execution of division work programs in line with company and international standards.
Performance Management
- Implement the Company Performance Management System for department individuals following approved guidelines, continuously monitoring achievement of departmental KPIs related to the approved Annual Performance Management Contract and the Balanced Score Card.
Organisation Structure and Development
- Review, develop, and recommend an appropriate organisation structure for the department to best utilize human capital, incorporating sustainability into ongoing work practices to meet business objectives.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Encourage innovation, enhance employee motivation, and support change management initiatives to continuously improve operations and services.
- Propose improvements in internal processes against best practices to achieve greater efficiency in line with ISO standards and define intelligent solutions for departmental challenges.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Support the establishment of an HSE culture, ensuring compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, systems, and legislation, alongside sustainability guidelines in line with international standards and company Code of Practices.
- Ensure adequate HSE training and induction for all department employees to meet established HSE standards.
Management Information Systems (MIS) and Reports
- Prepare all department MIS and progress reports, providing accurate and timely information to company management for effective business management.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or relevant disciplines.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 15 years of experience with project management systems development and management.
