About the Role
In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, implementing, and maturing enterprise data management capabilities, influencing the strategic direction of data practices within our organization. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, engaging with senior client stakeholders and translating technical concepts into actionable business cases and ROI models. You will leverage your expertise in data governance, metadata management, data quality, and other data domains to drive measurable value and foster an inclusive and collaborative culture.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and mature enterprise data management capabilities.
- Develop data management artefacts such as governance operating models, policies, standards, and data dictionaries.
- Collaborate with data engineers, architects, data scientists, and senior business stakeholders to create operational data solutions.
- Lead client engagements and manage stakeholder expectations while acting as a trusted advisor.
- Identify business opportunities for data management to drive revenue, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
- Mentor and develop multidisciplinary teams and provide performance feedback.
- Manage engagement financials, resource planning, risk, and delivery quality.
- Present to C-suite audiences and communicate complex topics effectively.
Technical Capabilities
- 10–15 years’ experience in designing and implementing data management capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of data management frameworks and standards such as DAMA, DCAM, and others relevant to the market.
- Proven delivery experience in data governance, metadata management, and master data management.
- Practical experience with leading data management tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Talend) and cloud integration (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Exposure to data security and regulatory compliance issues, including PII handling and access control.
Functional Capabilities
- Strong commercial acumen to identify business opportunities driven by data management.
- Experience developing proposal content and managing client relationships.
- Ability to identify process improvements and deliver change programmes effectively.
Leadership Capabilities
- Mentor and lead teams; guide on performance and career development.
- Take ownership of engagement’s financials and expect high-quality deliverables.
- Engage effectively with business leaders to achieve programme outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 10–15 years of experience in data management or related disciplines.
- Proven experience leading data governance and quality programs.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in fluent English.
- Knowledge of data management platforms and cloud ecosystems.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in consulting or with Big Four firms is a must, with global system integrators as a plus.
- Proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
- Professional certification in relevant areas (DAMA, DCAM, CDMP) is a plus.
