Role Summary
As a Site Reliability Manager, you will oversee the operations and reliability of the organization's IT infrastructure and systems. You will lead a team of Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) and work with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, performance, and scalability of the organization's services. This role involves developing best practices, managing incident responses, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Strong leadership and technical expertise are essential for managing multiple projects and tasks effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Site Reliability Engineers, providing guidance and support.
- Develop and implement best practices for system reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth service operation.
- Define and track KPIs to measure system reliability and performance.
- Establish incident response processes and lead resolution of critical incidents.
- Conduct post-incident reviews and implement preventive measures.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring adherence to timelines.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure external system reliability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for automation and process optimization.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Professional certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer are advantageous.
- Proven experience in a Site Reliability Engineering role, including team management.
- In-depth knowledge of system architecture, networking, and infrastructure components.
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Portal, ArcSDE.
- Strong experience with FME Desktop & FME Server for automation workflows.
- Knowledge in Oracle Server administration and performance tuning for GIS applications.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, ELK stack).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
