What You'll Be Doing:
- Design coastal structures, including breakwaters, revetments, seawalls, and quay walls, preparing design conditions and both preliminary and detailed designs.
- Review and provide comments on drawings and specifications for materials.
- Design and layout complete systems and components for company projects while utilizing good judgment and prior experience to preemptively identify problems and solutions.
- Review contractor methods and ensure compliance with safety and effectiveness in operations through method statements and risk assessments.
- Ensure adherence to specifications, tolerances, safety factors, and client requirements.
- Perform specialized design computations and analyses within your discipline.
- Coordinate with engineering teams on constructability and design aspects relating to civil disciplines such as steel erection, earthworks, piling, and concrete.
- Establish strong working relationships and communication lines with the Project Engineer regarding civil engineering deliverables and construction application.
- Responsible for quantity take-off, tracking, reporting, and forecasting for the civil discipline.
- Review civil marine criteria for temporary and permanent facilities construction as needed (MSRA/Materials, planning, sequencing of work, etc.).
- Ensure correct delivery of civil materials via material receiving reports and warehousing.
- Coordinate and monitor civil marine data exchange to support project plans, construction schedules, and control program requirements.
- Develop and manage the civil marine construction quality program in collaboration with the Quality Manager, and oversee cost estimates for civil activities and progress reports.
- Recommend civil marine procedures to contractors to keep operations aligned with design requirements.
- Collaborate with client staff and operating personnel to facilitate civil marine construction activities.
- Ensure contractor compliance with civil materials, equipment, and quality in accordance with design plans and specifications.
- Control variables impacting job progress, like steel erection and quay wall installation, while ensuring timely engineering and procurement delivery of resources.
- Administer major subcontract changes within the civil discipline and represent the company in significant contractual discussions and negotiations.
- May act as a Unit Leader, ensuring compliance with industry codes and company standards.
- Conduct interdisciplinary reviews and provide coordinating data to ensure compatible designs.
- May lead a team of checking personnel to ensure the accuracy of produced drawings.
- Apply company design standards and methods, assisting in establishing or revising guidelines as necessary.
- Prepare manpower estimates and coordinate with engineers to ensure design quality.
- Review necessary supplier data and drawings, performing checking procedures as directed by supervisors.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 8-10 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in structural construction operations, marine surveying, excavation/backfill operations, and related tasks.
- Knowledge of drainage on infrastructure projects involving sensitive watercourses.
- Familiarity with construction technologies and supervisory field functions.
- Commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) and Zero Accident safety programs.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the MENA region.
- Expertise in dredging operations and piling installation (including driven concrete piles, pipe piles, sheet piles, and combi wall structures).
- Experience in stockpile management and onsite trucking operations, mass excavation, backfill, soil stabilization, and solidification.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Extensive knowledge of supervisory functions related to field activities in construction.
- Experience in roadway construction, bridge construction, piling/foundation installation, and marine construction environments.
