What You'll Be Doing:
- Review the Contractor's material submittals and obtain the required approvals according to applicable standards and project specifications.
- Act as the focal point for scheduling and controlling construction materials and equipment at the job site.
- Conduct inspections to ensure that work has been completed as per contract specifications.
- Coordinate the work of subconsultants for material testing.
- Maintain office files related to project material inspections and write daily diaries.
- Prepare daily reports and other documentation as required by the contract.
- Verify that only approved materials are used in the work.
- Identify potential conflicts, issues, and problems regarding construction materials, and report to the supervisor with proposed solutions.
- Collect, review, and file Certificates of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags, and any other relevant material information.
- May provide technical guidance to lower-level staff.
- Participate in developing job safety practices and preparing safety reports.
- Contribute to the development of quality control reports and procedures.
- Utilize math skills to prepare engineering calculations, graphs, and charts.
- Observe, check, and record execution of work according to approved methods.
- Verify that materials delivered are as approved and stored properly.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Geology Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in infrastructure projects, including at least 5 years in the UAE/GCC, specifically on roads, bridges, or tunnels.
- Mandatory previous approval from RTA.
- Strong technical reporting skills, proficiency in MS Office, basic AutoCAD, experience in laboratory management, and effective stakeholder communication.
